Natural Immunity Boosting Foods.

Let me start by thanking each and every one of you for staying indoors and practicing social distancing during these trying times. Added to this you are washing your hands multiple times a day, using sanitizers whenever necessary and have stopped touching your face. This is awesome but it’s not enough. We need to do more inside us as well to protect ourselves holistically in times like this now and forever. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, every one of us has become more aware of how important it is to take care of our health & boost immunity and rightly so. This is no more just common sense but also our social responsibility.

Being a Healthy You.

A holistic and right path to being a “Healthy You” is to take a natural approach to health, which improves all the organs in our body, thus building a strong immune system.

How long does it take to build immunity?

In these days of on-demand news and information, we tend to get influenced and sometimes even inspired by what social media feeds us, especially when it comes to health-related matters.

As a matter of fact, we just cannot suddenly start eating food which helps in building your immune system. A sudden boost to the immune cells or any other cell for that matter isn’t necessarily a good thing. It involves a gradual and complicated process to boost the cell in your immune system, as different kinds of cells in our system respond with different microbes in many different ways. The process of building an improved immune system can lead to sustained results only if it is done with a sense of balance and harmony.

How to start building an immune system?

The most important set of questions to answer even before we begin our journey of immunity improvement is:

  • Knowing your body

Does your immune system really need a boost?

Which cell should you boost?

And to what number?

  • Consult a Nutritionist or a Dietitian !

Please don’t blindly follow a random trend. Contact your nutritionist and dietitian or any certified health practitioner to make an informed and scientific choice with regards to your immune system and your health.

  • Buy only prescribed natural supplements

There are many ready made & off the shelf supplements and similar health products available in the market which claim to boost our immune system, but I suggest, please don’t fall for those marketing gimmicks and consume only those natural supplements recommended by a certified consultant

Simple steps to building an immune system.

I would strongly recommend these simple steps to kick-start your immune building journey :

  • Eat freshly prepared, home-cooked food.

  • Include raw or sautéd vegetables in all your meals.

  • Have seasonal fruits, dry fruits and seeds as snacks.

  • Exercise regularly.

  • Sleep well and for the right period of time as we have enough time now

In fact, eating well and exercising right will help you sleep better, which is a bonus because a tired body is more susceptible to viruses.

All of this leads us to the important aspect of our lives - Wellness.

Lastly, invest your time to be with your family and build a stronger family bond, all of which would have been next to impossible as we went on with our mechanical lifestyle.

Of course, it goes without saying that spending more time with oneself is the best form of wellness. Taking care of ourselves by improving our immune system and health is the most worthy investment we can make for our future.

Conviction is the key! You reading this blog is a good and healthy start :)
