Now that we know from our last article how important it is to balance the pH. Since everyone knows the basics I thought I will give you deeper information.
We know that our body pH should be between 7.3 to 7.4 from the previous article. And it is vital to maintain the balanced pH for our good health.
Acidic body is like breeding ground for the mosquitoes. We know that dirt clogged water is a fertile ground for mosquitoes to breed. Same principle applies to the human body. When there is an imbalance, that’s if acidic level increases then we would have rigid and dry tissues, hardened arteries, hypertension, arthritis, pain , gout, kidney stones, anxiety, insomnia, osteoporosis, tension, and even risk of cancer, skin disease and infections.
When the level of acid builds up in the body it will make the blood more acidic. Your kidneys are responsible to maintain the pH balance and also the electrolyte level. But in order to maintain balance it will use vital minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium. So we start to deplete minerals from our cells, tissues, organs and bones, which leads to weaken cells tissues, organs and bones and their ability effectively remove toxins, wastes or oxygenate. This will build up toxins. This compels the body work harder to maintain the pH. Due to this kidneys will be excreting more minerals via urine. Even when you check the ph of saliva or urine with the pH tester you will not find anything wrong. But internally your body is constantly fighting.

Cause of acidic imbalance
Consumption of alcohol
Smoking
Consumption of drugs(medical drugs)
Over use of antibodies
Kidney disease or malfunction
Underachieve digestive system
Poor gut health
Higher consumption of processed and refined food
Inadequate intake of potassium, calcium, magnesium and other mineral
Low consumption of fibre
Sedentary lifestyle
Consumption of artificial sweetener, colouring and preservatives
Air and water pollution
Elevated stress level
No proper sleep
Not chewing your food or eating fast
Pesticides and herbicides in non organic food
Constipation
Excessive consumption of meat
Exposure of chemical or radiation
Low nutritious food
Consuming GMO food - corn & soy
Negative emotions
Obesity or overweight
Sugar
Gluten
Processed and refined oil
Diary products
Coffee & tea
On the other hand if alkalinity is over done then you would experience tissue deterioration, hallucination, lethargy, mental instability. The solution is to maintain the body pH, if you are not able to figure out then visit me or any nutritionist or health practitioner.

Overall good health
How to balance the pH in our body ?
Lower intake of acidic food - Above I am already mentioned the things to avoid. There are food which are acidic in nature but nutritionally very rich which can be consumed moderately eggs, lentils, legumes, oats, brown rice and whole grains. Some of the food are acidic in nature but have opposite effect when consumed for example lemon. Where as meat is alkaline but when consumed it produces acid in our body.
Consume alkaline diet - include lots of green in your diet on daily basis. Very important to consume organically grown food as they help in alkalising the body. Some of the recommendation which should be in your plate on daily basis are cucumber, tomatoes, broccoli, green beans, radish, zucchini, and cabbage. Healthy fats like virgin olive oil, coconut oil, nuts and seeds, organic butter, fruits like, grapes, citrus fruits. Other food items like lima beans, navy beans and other beans, super food like spirulina, apple cider vinegar, seaweed, oregano, garlic ginger.
Hydrate with alkaline water - you have to make. Sure the pH of the water u drink is not below 6.5 as it will be quite acidic. Idea way to metallise the problem is add pH drops or add baking soda. Distilled water is neither alkaline of acidic as it is neutral. The RO water we drink has pH lower than 7 which is again difficult to measure with the ordinary pH strip or tester. Use copper bottle or you can buy alkaliser bottle, in which u can leave the water for 30 min to make it alkaline.
Lower your dependence on lifestyle drugs - various medications, chemicals, toxins, and pollutants can upset the pH balance. Alcohol, caffeine, opioids, sedaives, aspirins, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and many more medicines spike up the acid level. Work with your doctor and nutritionist to identify the root cause of the certain health condition that may be forcing you to be dependent on the drug for long time.
Oxygenate - oxygen is required to burn the nutrients we consume. When there is inadequate amount of oxygen in your blood will lead to lower absorption level of nutrients which leads to acid build up. Doing pranayama helps to increase the oxygen levels to help the body alkalise itself.
Improve your digestive system - any food which we do not eat properly leads to acid build up. First make sure you chew your food and not eat fast as mechanism go digestion starts as the food is chewed. You should be eating most nutritious and organic/high quality food. Adding plant enzymes which you get I organic fruits and vegetables helps stimulating hydrochloric acid in the stomach. You can also supplement of these enzymes. Higher hydrochloric acid in the stomach means better digestion.
Lower stress - Our nervous system is made up of 2 branches sympathetic and parasympathetic. The sympathetic nervous system activates more acid in our body when we take stress. The para sympathetic nervous system helps by relaxing us by alkalising the body. In order to keep you parasympathetic nervous system active you can listen to music, medicate, pranayama, yoga, exercise which acts as natural supplements.
